Default JR XP 2610

I just was looking through a British r/c magazine and saw an ad for JR's XP2610. It is identical looking to the USA's XP6102. Is it in fact the same radio? If so, I am curious why the model numbers are transposed between the two countries?

If there are differences, what are they? Inquiring minds want to know!

Fundamentally there is no difference between the 2.

Rest of the world adopts the Japanese numbering scheme, but the US goes in sequence of channels, memory, mode of operation.

eg 642, 652, 662, 6102 ( being 6 Channels, 10 Model Memories , Heli and Acro ) , the odd one out being the 378 ( 3 modes Heli, Acro & Glider, 7 Channels. 8 Memories ) 8103.....

The rest of the world has... 642, 652, 662, 2610, 378, 3810.

Some minor difference are in the boot strapping so that over there the set "boots" up in one configuration and over here, it boots up in a slightly different config.

Ermmmm..... I work for the UK importers/distributors, and being the most Internet savvy, I have taken on the mantle of answering ( or trying to answer questions ) from the UK guys and occasionally assisting out.

I actually repair the transmitters and receivers and servos etc etc.....

I see. Well I could tell you were very informed so I figured you must be some sort of authority. Thanks!
