JR 347 dead
Hi Danny,
I charged the battery on my trust 347 radio, then extended the antenna and left it switched on to discharge the battery. On checking the radio afterwards the display was off ( which is normally the case)
On swtching it off again and then on the display was still dead. I charged the battery out of the radio, it took a full charge and I replaced it. The display was still dead. On switching on the rx in one of my planes - no response to the xt.
Checked the fuse, it was fine, replaced it anyway.
Your comments are appreciated.
many thanks
Frank

It sounds like some damage has been done internally in the system. It sounds like it will need to come in for service. For future reference, I would not advise leaving the system on to discharge the battery. There are many cyclers available that will cycle the pack without the risk of damaging your system or battery.

RE: JR 347 dead
Hi Danny,
Sat down last night to pack my xmitter, plugged in the charger into the charger jack while the xmitter was switched on, pushed it in and out a few times - and it works ! I normally charge the batt by unplugging it and charging it with a peak charger, not using the charger jack. To me it looked like a bad connection in the jack plug from not using it,and putting the charger plug in cleared it.
I opened up the back and removed the five screws (4 black and 1 silver) to the pc board where the charge jack is mounted on to have a closer look at the jack, looked ok.
Problem now is that I do not know which position the silver screw goes to, is the same length as the 4 black screws....
Danny, your advice is appreciated.
Many thanks
Frank
