Default Trim Resolution and Servo Centering

Danny,

Does the trim travel for a beep of trim get affected by dual rates or is the trim setting based on 100% servo movement? Does the centering accuracy of the servos get affected by dual rates?

Thanks,

No, the trim rate is not affected by dual rates, only by the trim rate function. The centering accuracy remains the same throughout all dual rates.

When extreme 3-d rates are used, ie 140% ATV, is servo resolution affected when dual rates are used to reduce the throws down to what would be used for IMAC/Pattern rates? The problem we are having with the plane is that it never trims in pitch. One beep of trim either way is too much on Matt's 6102. I am guessing that the trim movement is too much since mechanically, the linkage is set up for 3D rates. We are trying to figure out if its a trim problem with the airframe, or the electro-mechanical setup.

No, the servo resolution remains the same. You are using less of the resolution available at lower rates, but the number and size of the "steps" remain the same.

NO, the old ACE MP8000 (1989) had programmable trim rates.

I meant to ask if the 10X is the only JR radio with that feature?
The mention of the micro pro is a blast from the past though. I bought one when they first came out and like it alot. In some ways it was ahead of it's time. I think it was only a 512 radio if I'm not mistaken. I miss ACE and had a ton of their stuff.
Oh well, that's progress_bob

The 8103 and 378 also have trim rate/step adjustment.

Thanks Danny.
As an aside, my manual isn't handy and I'm wondering what to do to make the throttle trim active only in the first half of the total throttle curve? Right now it affects the second half of the curve and isn't the ideal set up for total throw.

The only system that I can think of that the throttle trim affects above half throttle is the quattro. All other current aircraft systems have the "Throttle ALT" function that prevents the throttle trim affecting the travel above half throttle.

It is automatically set up that way, but I'm not finding a mention of this in the manual.
