just purchased a JR X378 (Heli Version) Radio. The manual I got with it is in Japanese, unfortunately I do not speak Japanese. Nonetheless I downloaded an English version of the manual from the horizonhobby.com. The problem is that all the websites mention that this radio can switch to any of the four flying modes, but I have not been able to locate any information on either the manual or the software of the radio.

Can you please advice on this?

It is in the SETUP part of the programing. IE: Turn Tx on when holding the two left buttons down, scroll through the options, its the STICK option, change with the right buttons to select the mode you want, 1, 2, 3 or 4. Youll need to open up the back of the Tx to change the spring and throttle ratchet over if needed. Not a hard job, just need a small phillips head screwdriver and fine needle nose pliers or long tweasers.

Thats the problem, it doesn't show that option. Neither is that option mentioned in the manual.

Strange. I know it doesnt list it in the manual under system mode but its definately there in my radio and others Ive seen. Mine is also a Heli version according to the switch layout diagrams.

In US systems it is not possible to change the mode unless it is sent in for service. I can not speak for overseas systems, but if the option is not there as you state, it sounds like you will need to send it in to a service agent for JR in your area.
