HELP - 8103 Trims went crazy on their own
Hi Danny.
This saturday, I was maidening my EF Yak-54. After proper setup and range check, I did a couple of ground runs.
So far everything is good...
Then I take off, the plane starts to roll to the right and I try to give it left trim...
Now instead of the beep...beep.beep sound I get a "bbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeppppppppppp" sound and a/c starts a hard roll to the right and starts diving.
I am fighting the controls now trying to level the plane. At one stage I decide to "let it go". Fortunately, there was no one at the field and I successfuly land the plane.
Upon inspection, all the trims had gone haywire on their own. The aileron trim was all the way to the right, the rudder to the right and the elevator trim was down.
It really freaked me out. I centered all the trims, did another range check and decided to try again. SAME PROBLEM [:@] ...I landed safely again.
What could be the problem ???
TIA.

It sounds like your system needs to come in for a check up. That sounds very bizzare. I would not recommend flying with it any longer until it has been sent in for service. I'm glad to hear you were able to land successfully.

I am sending it tommorrow.
It really freaked me out to say the least. I have used this radio for everything from a Foamy to a 1/3 Scale H9 Sukhoi
Hope you guys can find out what's wrong and restore my confidence.

Not at all...
It stays in the aluminum case and comes out only to be hung by the neckstrap and then goes back into the case

RE: HELP - 8103 Trims went crazy on their own
Finally duplicated the problem...
No problem with the interference...It's a Tx issue
Happens on different models, not just the Yak
I did reset and try on a new model memory...
So here is what I found,
ONLY when the aileron stick is pushed to the left and the elevator trim is moved down, both the aileron & rudder trim move all the way to the right as if they were slaved to the elevator trim...
Very weird...
Doesn't happen with any other combination.
Radio is on it's way to horizon tomorrow.
