Default 8231 servos "fluttering"

These servos flutter my ailerons when I turn my radio on. I'm sure this is really eating up the current. I had this same problem with my rudder and have switched to a regular coreless. Would switching to 6 volts help.

Actually higher voltage will make it more likely to happen. If you can lightly touch the surface and it stops it is ok to fly as flight loads will prevent it from happening. Things to check to minimize this are to make sure that the servo mounting screws are not too tight, mounting rails too tight against the servo, slop, loose hinges, too flexible pushrods, restrictive hinges, etc. If it does not stop with light pressure on the surface likely the servo pot is worn and needs replaced.

Danny, Thanks for your replies..

You only confirmed what I suspected, but I feel better knowing that it will be safe to fly my Funtana90.

I am ordering gear sets for my Ds811 anyhow, becouse the only slop that I have is coming from my servo output shafts. I had this set of servos in a Voyager 50, and I do think that the ball links on the servo arms cause the gears to ware out faster.

Thanks for your time Danny!!

A new set of gears will not change this, it is the design of the servo, there is only a single bearing on the output gear, so it will have a small amount of play and it is normal on the 811.
