Does the currently available datasafe and/or datasafe 2 work with the 9303?

If not fully, can it at least upload/download models between a PC and the radio?

If not any, is there a projected timeframe when such a tool will be available?

The Datasafe program does not work with the 9303 at this time. Eventually they probably will make it work with the 9303 but I suspect that they will make you buy DataSafe 3. Hopefully it won't be the ridiculous $299 they want for the DataSafe Ultra.

The purpose of the datasafe system is uploading and downloading of files, but at this time the datasafe system does not have the software for the 9303. Down the road this may be available, but there is no eta on this at this time.

The price of Datasafe ultra is due to the cost of development of the programming required, the standard Datasafe systems do not have the abilities of Datasafe ultra, and this is the reason for the lower price.

There is a product on the market that allows any modern JR set ( including the 9303 ) to store, edit, and convert settings. There are 2 versions available, 1 for the PC and one for IPAQ's etc.

I talked to the guy that owns Topper Software, the outfit that created the DataSafe for JR in the US, at the Don Lowe Masters at Woodruff, SC, in early October. He told me at the time that JR had not contacted him about upgrading the DataSafe, either the DataSafe 2 or the Ultra, for the 9303.

I have the Ultra, and it is very nice, having the ability to review and change any parameter in the 10X. You can also print out your complete setup and take it to the field, and also compare an old and new setup side by side on the screen, automatically highliting any differences. They guy from Topper told me that it took him several hundred hours to decode the information from the 10x, as JR Japan did not provide any information. The time he had to invest in the DataSafe Ultra is the reason for the higher price.
