Newbie asking dumb ? about receivers.
Ok you guys probably get tired of hearing this question, or similar ones. I just bought an XP8103 from another RCU member and I'm a newbie. I don't know what receiver to get. Any input?
Some additional info.
I like the idea of PCM but I don't want to break the bank.
I plan to fly foamies at first with an eye toward large birds, either gas or electric. ( I absolutely love the scale P-51's!!!)
I'm not too interested in 3D, not that I could do it right now anyway.
Also, if you recommend one receiver over another could you please tell me what type of servos I should get considering near term application will be foamies or small electric trainers?
In case you're wondering I got the Tx first so that I could train with it on G2/3.
Thanks in advance for all your advice!

RE: Newbie asking dumb ? about receivers.
The best low cost PCM receiver is the R770, and this receiver works extremely well. It is also fairly light, so I use it in a wide variety of models, including park fliers up through and including giant scale. Other options would be the R610 and R610UL which are great for slow and park fliers. The R700 is an FM option for sport aircraft, and the higher end receivers are the R649, R955, and R945.

Danny,
Thanks for the input, here's another quick question. What's the diff. between Z-PCM and S-PCM? What are the major advantages/disadvantages of each? Thanks again!

RE: Newbie asking dumb ? about receivers.
ZPCM is older, and is 512 resolution (number of steps the servo takes in its rotation), while SPCM is newer and is 1024 resolution.
