DUAL RATES 8103
DANNY,
I HAVE A USED 8103 THAT I FLY 3D FOAMIES WITH.
I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS:
1. WHEN I SWITCH FROM LOW RATES TO HIGH RATES, MY SERVOS MOVE SLIGHTLY, SO THE CONTROLS SURFACES ARE NOT NEUTRAL ANY MORE.
I USUALLY HAVE THE HIGH RATES ABOUT TWICE AS HIGH AS THE LOW.
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO CORRECT THIS?
2. I HAD THE CASE OPEN AND FOUND THE D10 ON THE REAR BOARD HAS BEEN BROKEN. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY EFFECT ON ANYTHING THAT IA CAN TELL.
I'M ASSUMING THAT IT MUST BE PART OF THE CHARGING CIRCUIT, BUT I DON'T HAVE A SCHEMATIC.
THANKS,
JERRY

RE: DUAL RATES 8103
It could be that the system needs to be re-calibrated. I would recommend sending the system in.
That is a big glass diode by the charge jack. We are suprised you are not having problems charging or blowing fuses. It must just be cracked but the internals of the diode are still intact. You can get a 1N4002 to replace it, radio shack should have them they are very common. Or this can be repaired as well if you send the system in.

I can't provide an estimate without seeing the system, but it should be around a unit or 2 of labor ($7.50 for each unit) plus parts. But this all depends on what needs to be done.
