Default Jr 388 battery

I still have the original lithium battery in my 12? yr old radio. It died yesterday. I've searched Horizon Hobbies website 3 times today and still can't find any reference to JR Radio repair. Are they still the factory authorized repair center? They could mention it on their website if they are.
Thanks Mark

Yes, Horizon is the JR service center for North America and the Caribbean.

Is there a service center in Canada? Or will it cost me an arm and a leg to get my radio serviced?

HI all
I am having trouble with my JR 388 TX after I changed the internal li-ion battery - it seems that there is a particular procedure in starting up otherwise the new li-ion battery will drain itself in a couple of days - any help?

Why do you think its draining itself ? What is the voltage across the cell ?

It seems that the Tx will need a factory setting if the li-ion battery is changed - This factory setting can only be done by JR people as instructions on how to do it are restricted.

If the start up procedure is not executed, the Tx will work on the li-ion battery only and will drain it in a couple of days.

The Transmitter cannot work from the 3V Lithium cell.

Agreed, the tx will not work on the li-ion alone, but unless the set-up procedure is carried out, the circuitry will draw excessive current from the li-ion and drain it in no time.
