Charging JR TRX and RX batteries
Hi Danny,
I'm about to get a new battery charger/cycler for my LiPos but I would like to charge and recycle by JR TRX and RX batteries. I have two options:
1) Schulze Charger 6-330d Chameleon
2) GP Triton
I know that Schulze during charging sends 2 or 3 positive pulses and 1 negative, which makes charging not possible with a JR TRX as it incorporates a diode inside it. So how could I charge my TRX battery? I have a PCM 9X and is not very easy to unplug the battery plug lead in order to charge it directly (not via the diode I mean). The battery plug is nearly inside the box on the main board of the TRX. Here is a photo of the back side of the TRX and battery. Even if I unplug it I think this plug is not the same as the JR normal ones.
Do you have any solutions in mind?
Would the GP Triton charge the JR TRX directly without taking the battery out of the TRX box?
I look forward to your reply,
Thanks and regards,
Nik

RE: Charging JR TRX and RX batteries
Hi thanks for the reply. Is it possible to unplug the socket in the photo and charge it from there? Other solution would be to use a bat pack with contacts in order to be able to take the battery out of the TRX more easily.
I would not rather to mesh around with the electronc components of my TRX that's why I'm asking.
Look forward to replies.
Rgrds,
Nick

RE: Charging JR TRX and RX batteries
The connector will come out relatively easy but then the problem will be getting the corresponding connector to mate with the fly lead. The US version of this transmitter has the diode bypassed in order to overcome the charging issues associated with automatic chargers.
