Default 811 Digitals

I'm about to start building a 25% biplane from a kit.
I was thinking about using an 811 on each elevator half.
I've searched this forum and seam to find a lot of complaints about the 811 and centering/jittering issues.
Have these centering issues been fixed?
What type of motor in these servos? If it's just a standard 3-pole----then could that be why these servos have centering issues?
Maybe I should look at a different servo? Recommendations?
Thanks

Default RE: 811 Digitals

The jittering issues you have heard of are due to the servo being a single ball bearing on the output spline, and there is a little play in the output gear. When coupled with being a high performance servo in some applications it can cause a bit of jittering. There will not be any type of problems caused by this in the air since air loads will prevent it from happening. The 811 servo should work fine in that application.
