Fail-safe X-3810- Spcm - Adt
I have puchased the JR X-3810 SPCM. This is my first PCM radio. My problem is the fail safe. I have heard a lot of people complaining about how a plane plane was lost due to the fail safe.
The JR has got 2 options --(a) hold or (b) Your own inputs saved. The fail safe cannot be disabled.
Any information or advice on the topic will be appreciated.
THANKS
Francois

If nothing else, set it to retard the throttle. You won't have that far to go to retreive it..
Really, set the throttle to low. If you want to you can also set a slight up elev. and a bit of rudder(either way).
Just remember it may not always be in the upright position when it fails, therefore the throttle is the safest thing to set.

Hold and fail safe does not cause a crash, it is the interference or noise that causes the failure. Hold and fail safe just control what happens after the interference takes effect. In cases it can prevent a crash, provided the interference does stop. If the interference doesn't go away, regardless of the modulation used, it will result in a crash. Add to this that PCM is better at interference rejection than an FM system, it is the way to go for top performance.
