Default Crystal changing

Can I use any set of crystals in my JR recievers as long as I stay with the 75 band or 27 band crystal sets. Is there any problem with this or can I go about my business? For instance my 8103 came from the factory on the 52 channel is there anything wrong with me going to a 31 or 46?

The receiver you can change the crystal freely as long as you stay on the band the receiver is on. The TX you can not change the crystal in per the FCC without replacing the module with a new module (for module based systems) or sending the system in to have it changed.

Hi Danny,

When you say "module based" radio, you are talking about the 8103, right? Are there any restrictions applying to changing crystals, from 46 to 28, in the JR 378 radio?

Thanks
Pedro

The 8103 does use a module. The 378 would be the same, only since it is not a module equipped system, you would need to send the TX in to have the channel changed per the FCC.
