Default CROW on JR9303

I have recently purchased a JR 9303 transmitter. I have used only Airtronics in the past. I have figured out most of what I need but I can't figure out how to program "Crow" into an Ultra Stick 60 size. I've tried to use the instructions in the UltraStick manual for the JR 8303 but they don't convert to the 9303 very well. Help! AJ

Go to the horizon web site, look up 9303 radio. Under it you will see a pdf file for programming the ultra stik using the 9303, the last step is setting up the crow function. Hopes this helps.

I'm new to computer radios, can you explain what the "crow" function is. I just bought a 9303 as well, thanks in advance.

Crow is usually used by Sailplanes, however you can set your powered plane to crow. The ailerons go up, the flaps go down, the elevator is mixed with the flaps. This allows you to do stupid things like dive straight down until you are only a few feet from the ground then pull up and make a quick landing.

I still haven't been able to set it up, the JR9303 is too confusing for me, I think I'll sell it and stay with Airtronics. The corrections to the manual are about as long as the manual itself. Even with all the help from the good guys on RC Universe nothing works. AJ

Thanks for the reply. I went to Horizon's web site and tried their instructions--didn't work. I'm using a Hitec RCD3600 reciever that is marked for JR. Could that be a problem? All the surfaces worked fine but I couldn't get the Alierons to go up together and none of the mixes worked. AJ

The guide for the 9303 for the ultrastick is located here:

If using a Hitec receiver, you need to be sure it is a positive shift version, it should either say JR on it, or be shift selectable so that it can be put on positive shift. Also the channel of the crystal needs to match the transmitter, and the transmitter be set to the matching modulation type.

The Hitec receiver has"JR" on it, the mod is set correctly and the Trans and Receiver are both channel 54. I'll try again. Thanks, AJ
