Default Types of PCM and 8103 question

I recently came across a JR 8103 with 2 receivers and servos. The first receiver is the 9 channel PCM. I believe it's a 649S (I don't have the receivers near). The second one is a 627 ZX I think. My question is what is the difference in Z pcm and S pcm. Also can I set this in my radio for each plane I install the receivers in.

On another note. The 8103 is an analog trim model. I'm getting ready to send it in for service. Can I have this model upgraded to digital trim? Are there any other differences between this model and the digital trim model? Can this one be upgraded?

Thanks for your time.

Default Types of PCM and 8103 question

ZPCM is 512 resolution, that is the number of steps the servo takes in it's rotation, and SPCM is 1024. The 8103 is capable of SPCM, ZPCM, and PPM, and is selectable depending on the receiver you are using. The cost of changing the analog trim to the digital trim is going to be higher than purchasing a new system, so we don't provide this service. While the programming and switch layouts are nearly identical, they have different boards in them.
