Default 8103 problem

I purchased a 8103. I tried to use it with my trainer which has an airtronics receiver. The throttle and the elevator controls are backward. Throttle on the right, elevator on the left. Is this a problem with my radio or with the receiver? Do I just switch the servo leads on the receiver? The radio that came with the trainer works fine.

There is nothing wrong. JR & Airtonics have different channel assignments. Just plug the servos into the slot that is controlled by the proper stick on the Tx and it will work fine. Just make sure to re-check all of your neutral points, servo directions, throws and trim settings.

I didn't want to post in a manufactueres forum, but if the elevator is plugged into channel #1 of the receiver and the left stick is controlling the elevator it is a Mode 1 transmitter. Changing to a Mode 2 must be done by Horizon. Don't go switching plugs around to make it the way you want it. Life would become difficult indeed if you tried a flapperon mix with the plug in the wrong ports.

Remember that port #1 on a JR receiver is always the elevator.

SilverSurfer,

If I may correct you there.... the channel assignments on any JR receiver is

1 Throttle
2 Aileron
3 Elevator
4 Rudder
5 Gear
6 Aux1
etc

Thanks, and appreciated. I'm too far away from my equipment to look at it and made the mistake of going from memory
