Default Digital Servo and Standard JR RX

I am looking to buy some digital servos. Can I use digital servos w/ a regular non PCM JR receiver? I have heard somewhere that you should only use digital servos w/ a PCM reciever. Is this true.

Most of the time I fly by myself, or with a few friends at the field. I hardly ever fly on weeksends when there is a crowd. So i don't think I need to go up to a $200, receiver. And I fly smaller stuff. The biggest plane I have is a 65" wingspan. and I am thinking of putting digitals on the tail for better centering on the elevator servos, and rudder servo.

The reciever I plan on using is the R600 six channel.

You can run digital servos without any problems on FM. The 549 FM receiver has had some problems with several digital servos plugged into it, the servos would jitter due to feedback from the servos. But we have a patch for this that the service center can do. With the R600, you should be fine with digital servos.
