Default Lihium battery

Hi danny I wonder if you could clear up how the lithium battery works.

1)Does it only work when the battery pack is to low to hold memory.
2)When charging the transmitter is the lithium battery getting any of the charge.
3)If the lithium battery went dead while flying would the transmitter default in flight or would it keep memory til it was shut down.

Nobidy in our club has a clue as to the answers they have their own theory.Any information will be helpfull.Thank you Art

1) The lithium battery is used any time the power switch is off, the memory is held by the lithium battery. If the lithium battery dies, regardless of the condition of the main battery, the memory will be lost.

2) No, the lithium battery can not be charged, and is not charged during the charging process.

3) When the transmitter is on, the lithium battery will not affect the settings at all, and if it died while you were flying, you would not know it until you turned it off and turned it back on again.

Checking the voltage is the only way. It should be 3 volts or over. It is difficult to replace, it is really best to send it in for this service. If it is around 3 to 5 years it is a good idea to have it checked out and see if it is good. I've seen these batteries last longer, but it is best to check it out. It is a good idea to have the system checked over on a regular basis anyway.

They are difficult to do, and it is best to send them in for this service, particularly if the system is under warranty. Any service not done by and authorized service center will void the warranty.
