Default JR Alpina PCM question

HI,
I picked up a couple of second hand JR alpina transmitters and a JR NER-832x receiver. 1st problem is they came with no crystals. The receiver is 27mhz and 1 of the transmitters is marked 75mhz. The second transmitter has no label on the back. Is there any way if I open up the transmitter, I can verify what band it is. I have tried the unlabeled transmitter and 27mhz reciever with 27.045 AM crystals and they don't comunicate. I am assuming that the second transmitter is on 75mhz but is there a way to tell from inside? I did not pay a lot for these so I am not afraid to open them to check them out. Although I do think they would make a great system for a gas boat, so I would like to get it straightened out.
Thanks a lot
Glen

There is nothing to look at on the inside that you can tell them apart, you need the proper testing equipment to test tuning etc. to tell the difference. But if you tried it with a 27 Mhz crystal and it did not work, it must be on 75 Mhz.
