1. Recent ads seem to show the 10X tx with an antenna that retracts into the tx case like all other JR models, yet my new 10X tx has the same old
external pivoting antenna as found on the previous
JR 10 series tx. Is this something new or an ad-man's game?
2. As an owner of a Jr 8103 and more recently a new 10X,and an Apple iMac computer, will the Datasafe
ever become compatable with Apple?
Thanks, Bill

I haven't seen an add for the 10X with any different style antenna mount than the external pivot type, and I don't see this changing. Where did you see this ad?

I can pass the request along for an Apple version of the datasafe. I haven't heard of one in the works.

Another inquiry,

I read that the 549 Rx does not take too well to digital servo's and that the prefered and superior is the 649 SPCM.

Is there any truth to the claim that the 549 experiences glithes with 8411's ?

The 549 has had some issues with digital servos in general, with several digital servos, not just the 8411, the servos may twitch and jitter. One or two digital servos you are not likely to notice anything, but with several you will start to notice the feedback from the servos to the receiver cause the servos to jitter. We have an update we can do to the 549 if you send it in to our service center to correct this.

Default Glad I asked

Wow, thank you Danny.

I have 3 8411's and two 8231's on my plane and I have a 549 Rx.

Now, I just had a 549 serviced and filter replaced,

Question,

Would the change that you refer to have been automatically done at that time in October of last year ?

My guess would be no, but there is a chance. If it has had it, it would either have a blue dot or a silver dot to denote that it had been changed. Just to make sure that I was clear, the 549 is the only receiver that is affected by this.

Default OK

Thanks again, no dot for me Danny,,,,,

Is there a charge for changing this if I send it in ?

If I get it done is it still OK for all other operations on non digital servo's ?

Cheers

There is no charge for this update, and it is a very fast service. Absolutely, it is fine to use any servos with it after the change.

Always a pleasure.
Always great service, no wonder I love JR and Horizon.

And that is no snivel.

Cheers,,,,,

Hmm, if only Hitec did this you might have some competition, but for now,,,

Better is the enemy of good enough.

Thanks for being better.

Just took a look at that, I'm not quite sure why that was done, but it is photo edited. They shortened the antenna in the photo, as you can see the antenna mount is still visible. There has been no change to the 10X antenna mount. The adjustable mount is very benifitial for a lot of customers to allow you to adjust the angle of the antenna, which could not be done otherwise.

I like this feature, and the radio as a whole is great, it will do everything. Horizon service is excellant and Randy in Tech is TOP SHELF.

Did I mention that Horizon is # 1 in my book.
