Default Trying to SMOKE

Danny:
JR 783 tx and JR 649 rx.
Want to put SMOKE PUMP ON/OFF on the AUX2 switch. I have it on the knob now, but do not want to reach up and turn the knob each time for on/off.
What port in rx do need to be in and how to program the switch to work.
I would use the gear switch but am using it for tx kill.
Thanks
RORO

PS
How is dad doing?

You can take your pick of which channel you want to use. If you have aux 2 open, that will work. In a program mix, set up a mix using the channel you selected, and mix it to itself. Press the channel key until the screen says SW. Press either the + or - key and make this say MXSW. Press the channel key until the screen says offset. Rotate the aux 2 pot all the way one way and press clear. Then press the channel key back to the main mix screen, and enter the percentage as needed. To disable the aux 2 pot, set up a mix, channel 7 to 7 again, and make the percentages -100% with the pot turned both directions.

Dad is doing fine, he is down in Florida, probably flying right now. Wish I was...

Default CHECKS OK ON GROUND!

Danny:
Finally got out to field to try smoke system.
Range check seemed ok with smoke on and off.
Flew and turned on smoke and was doing fine, then had a moment of no control, then got it back and landed.
Thought it might be from smoke system, flew again not to turn on smoke, happened again, moment of lockout, no control etc.. landed and went home not wanting to press my luck.
Flying a PITTS with a JR 649 RX, 783 TX, smoke pump about 3 inches away from Rx. Have flown plane numerous times with no problems.
Do not have any failsafe programmed in??
Only thing added has been smoke.
Is my pump to close to RX?
Thanks
Roger

If possible more separation would be beneficial, I would try for 12" or more. But shoot for as much separation as you can get. It may not be the problem though if the pump is not running when you have gotten the hits. Under that case you would want to check for outside interference on your frequency, or model generated RF, be it the ignition system, servo leads, etc. Be sure to do a thorough range test before flying.
