Default Older 4131 Problem

Hello Danny,

One of my 4131's seems to wiggle when I center the stick from the right. If sometimes centers fine from the left, but always a wiggle at center from the right. This happens in the ship and is really bad when the servo is out with no linkage on it.

Could this be the pot going bad? These are 10+ year old servos in a 13 year old X-Cell 60. They have been serviced by Horizon once before.

Are they worth sending in if the pot is going bad?

Thank you,
David

It could be the pot of the servo, but it could be worn or damaged gears as well. I feel that it would be worthwhile to send it in and have our service department check it out. If it is over 50% of the replacement cost, they will let you know what your options are from there.

Thank you again,
David

Edit: Found the service form, Thanks.

Hello Danny,

Did you get my servo's? I sent an e-mail through the Horizon site, but when I sent it I noticed it said "HorizonSales." I don't think it will get to the service side of the house.

Thanks for the help,
David

David,
Generally messages that have service questions will get forwarded over to us, but if you would like, you can resend the email to productsupport@horizonhobby.com. I need your last name to locate you in the system to find if your servos are here.

It looks like your servos arrived here today. They should be done in the next few days.

David,
I'm sorry to say that it looks like the servos are holding on a pot to replace it. The pots are on order, but I do not know the date we expect them at this time.

The pots have yet to arrive here. They should be in soon, but I still do not have an exact date at this time. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to give one of our techs a call at 877-504-0233.

Hello Danny,

Well I just got my 4131's this past week, and your service found that they could not be brought back to 100%, so they sent me two NEW 4131's.

Please let everyone there know that I think you all are the greatest to work with.

A BIG THANK YOU!

David
