Default JR 9303 that won't turn on

Danny,

I flew my 9303 at Bomber Field on Sept 15-17th and put it away for abot two weeks. I recharged the battery and now the radio will not turn on. I charge my battery outside of the Tx normally. I tried to charge it via the Jr supplied charger and no red light on charger (with the battery installed of course). I tried it with another battery and same thing.

I did notice though that with it plugged into the JR charger, if you turn the Tx on while charging, you get a momentary red light on the charger. The radio wasn't dropped, banged, bruised. Any ideas?
Someone said it was the fuse ????

The fuse on the 9303 (aka 9XII ) is easy to change, remove the 6 screws from the back of the set and look in the rear case section, Antenna PCB lower left. Fuse is type is a 20 mm 3A 240V.

Thanks UK, that was my next question. Any idea on what would cause that to go bad? I imagine it would have to something with amperage considering it's only a 9.6 volt battery pack. Would a cell shorting out cause a momentary increase above 3 amps?

I have blown the fuse on both my JR8103 and 9303 transmitters just by plugging in or unplugging from the charge jack. It seems that if you pull it out at an angle it can short momentarily and blow the fuse..I carry spares now...

Hi Jon,

The fuses I have are a JR supplied part, #JRPA030. Stamped on the fuse is 3A 250V, made by BUSS fuses...it's kind of short, only 20mm long...

Randy,

Got the info...thanks again. I pulled it up on Horizon's Website and it looks like the normal 250/3A fuse you can get at Home Depot. I'll check it out.

The fuses are readily available at many hobby stores, radio shacks, etc. It is a 3 amp, 250 volt, fast acting fuse.
