Default JR Galaxy 8, need help

I am getting back into flying and pulled out one of my JR Galaxy Computer 8 PCM radios. I remember buying the radio around 1989.

Two questions: Have radio spec. tolerances changed since my radio was built because I have a concern that by taking this radio to a flying site, it may interfere with newer radios? Should I be concerned about this?

Second question: This radio appears to work fine after being in a box for about 8 years but if I did need to have it serviced in the future, who services JR radios? Also, are JR radios still manufactured?

Thanks for your help.

From the time frame you bought it, I would say that it is current and would not need to be narrow banded. There is likely a gold sticker on the back of the TX, and there should be a gray crystal in the receiver. If neither of these are the case, you should send it in to be narrow banded. We are the service agent for the US. Absolutely JR radios are still manufactured. The Galaxy 8 is not.
