Default Questions About DX7

I am looking at purchasing a new DX7 system for a project I am starting and I have a few question.

What is the recommended voltage for the reciever, 4.8 or 6.0? Is better to go higher?

Will the Spektrum Flight Log work with the AR7000? Does it plug into a spare channel? Can a Y-harness be used if all channels are used?

Thanks
NB

I've been going with the 6 volt, just in case. No problems at all so far, flying very hard at times.

Either 4.8 or 6 V will work, but which is best depends on the model. In larger, more demanding applications 6V is better. The Spektrum flight log will only work with the AR9000 and JR R921.

Hi Danny,

I have submitted the question directly to Spektrum's support via their website but I was hoping you can help clarify this question.

"Will the Flight Log work the AR7000"

If you take a look at the website entry for the flight logger it lists the AR7000 in the "Use With..." section for the Flight log

http://spektrumrc.com/Products/Relat....&SubCategory=

I have tried this but get inconsistent results when using a Y cable to connect the battery and the flight log to the power connector on my AR7000.

Thanks, ...John..

According to his sticky, Danny will be out of the office for another week so I'll take a stab at this if you don't mind?

I looked at the webpage you linked and it is a bit confusing.

Long story short, take a look at Horizon's website for the Flight Log;

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=SPM9540

It shows the AR9000 being required with no mention of the other rx's made by Spektrum including the new AR9100 for GS stuff or the JR 921 which is the JR version of the AR9000.

Since I have the AR7000's and the JR921's, I'll tell you that the AR9000/JR921 rx's have a second battery port that is labeled "BATT2/Data" while the other port is labeled "BATT1/Bind". You cannot use the bind port for the Flight log, nor the bind plug in the data port.

So..... From everything I've seen posted and my own experience with the Flight Log, it won't work with your AR7000.

That's also my experience - works fine on the AR9000 I've tried. I did hook up the Flight log to the AR7000 batt port via Y cable but just didn't look right.

BUT the Spektrum web site does basically infer that the flight log is a "Use with.." item for the AR7000. - thus my confusion
