Danny,
Can both of the radios used for training connected with a "Buddy Cord", be on the same channel ie35? I have a JRXF421 and a JR PROPO MAX6. I have not been able to find anything on this. I am guessing as long as the "Buddy Cord" is attached to both radios everything should be ok, and only one radio is transmitting in this condition.

Yes, that is correct, the slave transmitter does not transmit at all, so the crystal in it does not matter, nor does it need to have a crystal in it.
