Default CHARGER NOT FUNCTIONING

I bought a JR SPORT 600 about a month or so ago. I have installed the servos & the receiver - along with the battery into the aircraft of choice.

Upon installing eveything, all things worked well.

I am still trying to find time to finish this airplane and ready to fly it within a couple of months or so, when the weather breaks its ice cold grip on us up here in Canada.

As I went to install the forth channel tonite, I noticed that the chargeing light are not on at all on the RX and the TX light is somewhat dim. So, I checked the voltage output.

The transformer is plugged into 110V AC and the TX is putting out only 6.82V DC (no load).
The RX is only putting out 3.98V DC (no load)

That's a far cry from the required: TX 11.6 --- RX 5.8

... and, there is NO light on the transformer on thr RX side when plugged into the 110VAC

Suggestions please

It sounds like it could be a bad charger. I'd suggest contacting our product support department for assistance.

Thanks Danny:

I called them today. They told me to use the existing (low voltage unit) as a paper weight. They will send me a new one out in the mail immediately! Even so, it might just take a week or so. KOOL!

Thanks again

I got the new charger all alright, however, I have couple of questions :

1. Q) CAN I "OVERCHAAARGE" THE BATTERIES?

The manual states a 15 hr charging time ti completely recharge up and secondly,

2. Q) MUST I COMPLETELY DRAIN THE BATTERIES BEFORE I RECHARGE OR CAN I RECHARGE AT ANY POINT?

thanks,

You can overcharge the battery if you leave it plugged in indefinitely. Overnight is generally best. You don't have to completely discharge before charging. Cycling is a good idea occasionally, but is not necessary to do every time you charge.

It seems like my schedole for charging is to set it up when I go to bed, leave it till I get home from work the next nite.

That makes it about 18 hrs or so

There are many chargers out there that would work, a couple that I like very well are the E-Flite Pinnacle and Pinnacle+. If you use a different charger make sure the polarity is correct for JR, center pin negative.

OK. Now I really feel like a putts! I have all my servos working 100% but for some reason, I can't make the instant "kill" on the throttle. I have set it up FULLY CLOSED and with the trim maxed out. The servos open a nice wide opening but no action from the button.

What am I doing wrong?

I am tryimg to do this with the engine NOT running.. Q) Is it necessary for it to be running at spped in order to function?

The throttle cut button only moves the throttle the amount of trim that you have, so with the throttle stick all the way down, if you have throttle trim, you can remove the trim with the press of the button to kill the engine but not have to move the throttle trim so that position remains stored when you restart the engine.
