mc24 left ON overnight without cristal
Sorry to hear of your demise with a brand new MC24.
I think I can safely say that your trouble does not stem from leaving the crystal out while the set is left on overnight.
The MC24 uses the exact same RF section as the JR8103/3810, which has proved very reliable indeed.
Tuning of JR RF boards is different than for other manufacturers and takes into account operators accidently leaving the set switched ON with aerial collapsed. The crystal oscillator would not be driven and the RF circuit would be in a quiescent state.
A black line on the display indicates a software hicup and the MC24 should be returned to the dealer immediately.
I notice the difference in time between your last two posts is only a matter of a few hours. Did you give your MC24 Nicads sufficient time to achieve a full trickle charge or did you use a fast charger ?
May I suggest you disconnect the Nicads from the transmitter and charge seperately; reconnection would in effect be similar to a reset on your computer. There have been reports of similar problems on new MC24's.
My contribution does not mean that it is your panacea, other owners may hopefully contribute their experiences.
Older MC24's just go on and on - a bit like I'm doing here !

My appologies Danny, I do not mean to step on your toes.

I checked with my old mc20 battery pack, I removed the mc24 battery pack and placed the old reliable one of my mc 20. No improvement.
it's really a total failure, either the analogic scale of the battery voltage indicator is frozen

Last resort before a dealer return - check fuse. If you have to replace it use the "fast blow" type, these will rupture before any damage to Silicon components.

mmmm One precision, when I say that my analogic voltage indicator is frozen, it's not completly correct, it moves when I switch the tx on, but stabilise just above the red zone of the scale regardless of the battery condition

It does sound as if it needs to be sent in for a check up. It could be a software issue or perhaps a drained lithium battery. You would need to have it checked up to be sure.
