Danny,

Just got my 10x today. After the initial slow charge. Can I charge at lets say 600 mah through the charge port with battery installed.

I charge my 10SXII with the wall chager and at 3C ( 3 times the milliamps of the battery) with a fast charger. If you have the time the slow chargers are always better. 600 ma is slow.
I hope this helps. Your going to love this Radio. I always charge through the charge port. JR does not have a diode.

Yes, you can certainly charge, or discharge through the charge plug. You can charge the battery in or out of the radio, as the plug is part of the battery pack you charge either way and it is the same. It is best to charge at an amp or under to help avoid the possibilty of blowing the fuse.

Don't have my manual in front of me right now. Does the 10x have a lithium to hold programming while the main battery is out-bob

Yes, all JR computer radios use the lithium battery for memory storage. It actually stores the memory at all times while the power switch is off, though there is also a circuit with a capacitor that is also used. The main battery does not supply any power to the memory storage of the system, while the power switch is off.

Hello again,

How do you remove the battery. I did not want to force it.

It simply slides out the back, but be careful not to put much of a side load on it or you may bend the pins in the back. Just pull straight back grabbing a hold of the "handle" that is on the battery pack case.

Danny thanks again for the fast response you rock!.

I have tried moderate pressure pulling on the small handle but it does not seem to budge.

They are a fairly tight fit, but it will come out. I sometimes rock it back and forth just a bit to get it to break loose a little easier.
