Default Understanding the DX7 - Setup for a heli

Ok,
I have purchased the Dx7 from Ushobbysupply.com

I have a few questions regarding the functionality of the Dx7 radio as I am preparing to set it up with my HBK2.
I have the Esky HH gyro and was wondering which "input select" to use? I would like to remote the gain adjustment, if possible.

Also what are the Dual Rate and Exponential functions used for?
And finally, will I use the Travel adjust? What is that for?

PS i have watched the videos on Helifreak and still need some clarification.

Thanks in advance.
Alan

You can use either the gear or the aux 2 channel for gain, in the input select function you can select GYRO on either channel. Then set the gain as needed. Dual rate allows you to have 2 different rates, say one high and one low, one for aerobatics, the other for smooth flying. Exponential is used to soften the response of the model to make it less sensitive around center stick. Travel adjust is used to adjust the amount of travel of a servo.
