My Jr 7202 radio isn't working right. When i first power it up i get "backup error" as the on screen message. When I try to select a different model the radio freezes.

I have my thoughts..... but without knowing the exact situation I don't want to speculate.
What status was the battery at when you turned it on ?

RE: JR 7202
Hello to all!
First post here, but unfortunately i am not so happy by starting like this (i mean with a problem)!
I would need your opinion about a problem that i have with this radio.
Well i bought from ebay couple of years before (about 3-4) with the receiver and servos.
It is my first and only multi-channel radio (using it to fly my estarter and an rc car occassionaly)
Well i have the same "backup error" and i think that the mistake is that i used 8 x AA 1.5 Volt alkaline batteries to power it for
couple of minutes when testing something. Its stock battery pack went dead some time ago and i used a battery holder
with 8x AA 1.2 Ni-Mh 2800mAh re-chargeable batteries without any problems. The problem occured when i used the alkalines so i suppose it burnt
from over-voltage.Am i right?
Anyway,is there any cheap way to fix it?By saying cheap i mean not to buy a new one!
For example,if someone could indicate (if is familiar with the problem) with a photo wich part inside the radios board is broken and try to replace it or
even buy the whole board or if someone sells the same radio for parts (or working).I really want to fix it because i am a student and my financials
are a bit strained.
The radio works but whatever change (change trims, reversing channels, change servo rates etc) i made every time i open it returns to the last settings
(settings that the radio had before the problem).
Thanks a lot in advance!
PS:Sorry for any language mistakes (i am Greek) and for the big post. Also thanks for your time!
Best regards,
Konstantinos
