Very Much shorter range than normal for my PCM9XII/9303
Hi there.. anyone could offer a solution ?
I am getting unusual shorter range reach with my JR 9303 synthesized module.the part number is TS-72J
I have tried using different receivers (2 fm and 1 PCM) including 1 berg receiver, giving me almost the same result.
In fact, i had a PCM lockout and caused my seamaster to crash about 2 months ago. (The plane was just about 100 meters away from me and about
20meters height.).
Today, I flew my zagi and noticed similar problem, it was barely 300meters away from me and suddenly it was out of distance and almost lost it. (ran towards it and manage to get hold
of it again)
Then i did a range check with the same module, got about 20 steps before it went out of range (antenna fully collapsed) when I plug out the module and used my friends module
I got well beyond 100 steps and it was still in range (antenna also collapsed) his module was a 36mHz and non-pll type
is there something wrong with my PLL module.?
if so, where can i get it fixed? I am in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur). I just used this set since last december (less than 1 year still).

It could be one of many things.... has the antenna been knocked ? Check for corrosion on the module pins.... Try a fixed module NET J72P .. does that have the same problem ? If so, then the modules are not the problem. That points to the 9303/9XII.

Thanks Mac Man.. however, antenna ok and no corrosion on the module pin. Tried using my buddy's fixed module (36mhz) the range is good (more than 50 paces with the antenna down)

Sounds like the power transistor has gone low, or the frequency of the module has drifted. Your local shop SHOULD be able to sort it out one way or the other. Either they replace it or send it back to their supplier for repair.
