Default Throttle expo on DX7.

As the DX7 does not have any Expo capabilities on throttle control for planes what are the other options?
As I'm flying planes with gas engine it is quite important to have it.

I read somewhere to use the HELI mode instead of ACRO. If so is it possible to have to have the following options still available.
- Ailerons R&L on separate Channel.
- Differential on Aileron
- Dual servos for elevator
- Kill switch on Gear Switch.

Thanks to let me know.

I'm still doing some research before shopping.

I set up my Aeroworks 50cc Extra w/Heli mode to get a throttle curve. Everything worked as you ask below except I don't recall having had ail diff. Eventually I went back to Acro and replaced the tuned pipe with a Pitts muffler which solved the throttle issue.....One of these days I'll learn how to tune an engine w/tuned pipe...

Oh, forgot to include this:

On the bottom there's a How-to and several excellent tips,

You would not be able to have all of the above functions in heli mode.

You could pick and choose. For instance you could have only dual aileron or dual elevator. Differential could be set up if you adjust the values in the mix. Basically you would run out of mixes for all of the above functions.

IF I may,
Wouldn't setting the endpoints on the Throttle channel to say 60% high and 120% low be close enough to 50% expo? I did this on my MW44 Turbine that has a very non linear throttle with much of the thrust produced from 3/4 to full stick position. Not sure what exact high and low numbers are possible. This worked very well for me. Doesn't take any mixes and you still use aircraft software.

Comments?

No, it would remain linear.

Dave,

Thanks. Your comment make sense and I will do experiments. All winter is there for that.

It is just a shame that at the electronic era we still have to do the setup mechanically. I guess that Spektrum decided not to have the expo on throttle for marketing reasons.

Danny,
Yes it would be linear, BUT the stick/servo movement won't be. You'll have twice as much servo rotation from half to low as from half to high. It really solved the problem with the MW44 turbine. Maybe "expo" is used too generally?
Of course it isn't exactly an expo curve, but feels like it!
