Danny,

Two questions:

1. Is the JR 549 9 channel rec. tuned to the middle of the band? I recently purchased a slightly used one on channel 28. I want to install a channel 15 crystal. Will this be ok without retuning?

2. what is the minimum allowable reciever ant. length. I lost about 1.5 inches from a 600 reciever, should it be R&R for the ant or can I splice back the lost 1.5 inches by soldering ?

1) Yes, that would be fine without retuning.

2) You may lose some range due to this. The antenna length should be 1 meter which is about 39". You can splice it back, but you need to be sure that you have a secure solder joint, that will not be forced to bend or flex. Usually it is safer to replace the antenna. Our service department will replace the antenna for you at no charge if you wish to send it in.
