I swear I can't find it in the manual but what does the top bar graph on the DX-7's main menu of the LCD panel represent?

It seems it is always around the 70% range.

EDIT: Screen contrast?

Battery level-----see page 13. As it was originally set up for Alkalines you will never see a full bar but you also have a numeric read out alongside it. The NiMH will read less than the Alkalines.
