Default Maximum receiver voltage

Hi. I’m flying a stone stock Easystar with an AR7000 receiver and am wondering if I can get away with using a 3S A123 battery. I’ve read somewhere nominal voltage to be in the neighborhood of 9.6 to 9.9 volts. Maximum charged volts is 10.8 I believe. Has anyone experimented with pushing the upper end of the voltage on these receivers? Thanks, SOS
