Default Adequate range?

Jet Model Products T-33, JetCat P-120 turbine running at full power, 10X radio, R455 PCM receiver, plane oriented head on to the transmitter. This was the environment in which I made my range checks. Given the above, is 180 feet good? 180' was the least distance I was able to get

Pics of the T-33 in my gallery.

Was that with the antenna removed from the 10X, or antenna colapsed? 180 feet though is well within operating limits.

Default Adequate range?

The antenna was removed for all of the range testing.

Yes, 180 feet is more than acceptable for range antenna removed. You can find some good information on range testing here. http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/articles/1079.asp?pg=1
