Any comment on this post
water and warranty
as I have recently bought a graupner/JR XS6 FM race and know others who have or are about to do the same.
Whilst one does everything one can to keep water out of the receiver in a boat (currently bagged and inside a radiobox), no method is absolutely foolproof.
As this radio is being actively marketed to boaters what can we do to protect our investment? Can we use Aeroplate, Corrosion X, CRC2-26 as we do with servos and standard receivers or what?
So, any advice??

Here is my original post regarding this topic.

If the receiver does get wet, be sure that it is dried out completely so that it does not corrode and also use a contact cleaner that does not leave any residue to prevent any corrosion from forming. In this customers case the receiver was wet inside for some time and corroded, and in fact was sent in with water still in the receiver. This is not a warranty situation for any receiver for any reason. No receiver or any other electronic device is manufactured to tolerate water inside the components, and there is no type of warranty in place in the event that they get wet..

Here is some more information on this subject.

Also we sold this customer a new receiver at half off to help him absorb some of the loss. This was not a warranty situation in any way, however we wanted to help the customer get running again..

As always, 2 sides to the story. Thanks for the reply.
So its carry on as ever and dry out immediately. Any problem with putting aforementioned products in there? I know it voids the warranty but helps with the normal receivers in the event of inadvertent water ingress.

Yes, they would void the warranty, however so will getting the receivers wet. All precautions should be taken to reduce the chances of the receiver getting wet to reduce the chances of it having more serious problems.
