Futaba Spektrum Module
I have been running my Futaba Spektrum module with an AR7000 with no issues. I recently purchased an AR6200 and it binds fine but fails the range test consistently and completely fails at about 1000 feet in full range!
Out of curiosity I binded my setup to a friends DX7 and it range checked properly and I even flew it twice!
Any idea why this would happen?
Thanks

Sounds like there may be a problem with the 6200 running on 9 channel radios +

Your Futaba radio can only run 8 channels with the Spektrum module as the tx must be in PPM mode to utilize that module and that leaves you with only 8 channels.
I'd suggest for starters that you start with a clean model in your tx and verify PPM as the active transmission mode.

RE: Futaba Spektrum Module
Done all that, another modeller is reporting the same results with a JR 9channel.
Definitely nothing wrong with the receiver, worked fine with the DX-7
Interesting, and thank god I followed through with a proper range check!

Well I'm not sure what's going on but your conclusion is in error, it has nothing to do with the number of channels the tx is running...
I've run AR-6100's, AR-6200's, AR-7000's and R921's with a JR X9303 and they work just fine. I've also run those rx's as well as AR-9100's, R-1221's and R-1222's on the JR 12X transmitter and all of the rx's perform just as advertised.

RE: Futaba Spektrum Module
Futaba has a program change neccesary to facilitate an 8-14 channel RX or a 7 channel or lower RX.
You have not provided any useful information. It is possible that there is an error with the module based systems and the AR6200 RX.
right back at ya

RE: Futaba Spektrum Module
If you've already got your mind made up, why bother coming here and asking questions?
Spektrum/JR 2.4GHz systems do not require anything to change between the tx and rx with the exception of the DSM2 tx's which are capable of transmitting in DSM mode for the old AR-6000 Park Flyer rx's. Even that doesn't not require that you do or select anything different on the tx. That particular function IS only available on the native tx's and will not work on the module conversion systems with the module based 12X MV being the only exception to that condition.
