JR 6102 Problem (NEED HELP)
can someone help me what happened with my JR 6102.
it was working ok for an 30 minutes. when I wanted second start with my airplane, I have turned on transmitter and it says something ... backup... or somethings close to that (it was only moment on the screen) and after that
all of my 4 airplanes settings are been erased. Ok i have settings for 3 of them on paper but what can happen if the airplane was in the air when that happens.
can someone help me to solve this problem?
Does it have some battery for memory storage?
thank you

RE: JR 6102 Problem (NEED HELP)
from the 6102 manual
"All preprogrammed data is protected by a five-year lithium battery that guards against main transmitter battery failure. Should the lithium battery fail, the display will indicate BACK ERROR. If this occurs, it will be necessary to replace the lithium battery and reprogram all data. All transmitter programs will return to the factory default settings, and the data you have input will be lost."
Not good news, but it at least explains it. My 8103's are the same way, with the lithium battery. Just bought another 8103 used, and before I program it for anything, I'll get the battery changed.

In the 8103, once you open the back, it's on the side of the board across the bottom of the transmitter you can't see. I've changed a couple of them, and you have to be real careful not to lose any of the buttons, springs, etc, that are between the front of the case and that board.
Be careful, if you're going to do this yourself! It's easy to drop a piece and spend the next twenty minutes looking for it...
Also, the battery is soldered in - it's not a battery holder like you might find inside a PC computer. At least it is in the 8103, I'm not sure about the 6102.
Good luck!

RE: JR 6102 Problem (NEED HELP)
Well, unfortunately there is something, but far, far, far away on page six (6).
"A five-year lithium backup battery
prevents loss of memory in the event
that the battery discharges completely
or is removed."
So the last solution is to look at the user manual.
best regards

The lithium cell is located on the switch board. So you need to remove the RF board ( after removing the main battery of course ), unscrew the switch pcb and gently pull it away from the front panel. It's soldered underneath.

RE: JR 6102 Problem (NEED HELP)
I HAVE AN 8103 WITH A LITHIUM BATTERY THAT WENT DEAD, I TOO RECIEVED THE BACKUP ERROR MESSAGE. I WAS ABLE TO DISASSEMBLE THE TRANSMITTER AND PIGGY BACK THE BATTERY USING GOOD ELECTRONICS WIRE AND A CR2032 BATTERY HOLDER THAT I SOLDERED IN. I DID NOT REMOVE THE OLD BATTERY. I JUST LEFT IT IN. I USED LARGE SHRINK WRAP AND PUT IT AROUND THE BATTERY AND THE HOLDER AND JUST TUCKED IT UNDER THE MOTHER BOARD. I KNOW THIS ISNT WHAT JR WOULD RECOMMEND BUT ITS WORKING JUST FINE PLUS IN ANOTHER 10 YEARS IT WILL BE MUCH EASIER TO REPLACE.
