Default Snap Roll Button for kill switch

A friend of mine has a 10xsII and wants to use the snap roll button to control an electronic kill switch. Is this possible and how would I do it?

Yes, that is possible. Plug the kill switch into an open channel, then set up a mix, where you will mix that channel to itself, press the page key, and press SEL under the listing that says SNP. Then press page back to the main mix screen, and enter the percentage needed to operate the switch with the switch pressed.

Default Snap Roll Button for kill switch

I just did that the other day with an Electro Dynamics EDR-1070. It hooked up fine, and worked as expected looking at the red lights. That is to say that when the switch is pressed, the ignition lights go out. I didn't have time to mess with it much, but it didn't kill the engine completely. It made it miss, but not stop. I made more adjustments and couldn't try it again. My questions are: Do we need to mess with Offset, or with putting any percentages in the "+" or "_" field for it to work better so to speak? Thanks_bob

It may take a combintation of adjusting the mix percentages and an offset. If you inhibit the channels switch that you are using in code 17, you will need to use an offset to make the mix work. Otherwise it will just take some adjusting of the percentages to get it to work as intended.

What control would "set" the offset in that case?

You would have to set the offset with the function active in code 17, then after setting the offset, inhibiting the function in 17.

The snap roll/timer/trainer switch on that system is not available to program mixes, so it would not be possible on that switch.
