While the system is on, turn the system off then right back on again. If it operates normally then, it is a drained lithium battery, and you would need to send in your system for service.

It does seem to work fine but i would hate to lose my heli for something simple.
Can i just replace the battery or could it be something more serious?

Thanks

My guess is that the lithium battery is drained. It will work fine, but not store your set ups. The battery is a soldered in component that requires complete disassembly of the system to change.

On my radio the battery has a plug and can be removed fairly easy. I do intend on cycling the battery, which has never been done before. You also mentioned that the battery could be drained. Is this what you are talking about?

No, I am talking about the lithium memory back up battery that is drained. It sounds like it needs to be replaced.

OK! I understand now..
Well I live in Stuart Florida, do you know if there is a place locally to have this problem repaired? I just started learning to fly heli's and would like to be able to save any presets i put in as far as setting up the heli.

Thanks

They are not an authorized JR service center, but I know Radio South is in Florida. You can find information about them at their site. http://www.radiosouthrc.com/ Horizon Hobby is the only JR authorized service center for North America and the Caribbean. You can find our service information at this site. http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/support/

One last question and then i quit bothering you..
I know you work for JR, but would it me more economical to repair or just purchase a new radio? And how important is it to have that battery in the radio??

Thanks again

If the only problem with the system is the lithium battery being drained it is generally very much worth it to have the battery changed. Generally the charge is in the $40 to $50 range as an average for the service, and this includes a check over of the system for tuning and output, and check all functions. You can use the system with a drained battery, but any settings will be lost each time you turn off the system, which is rather inconvenient.
