Default 12X receiver went submarine!

My 1221 and satellites went into Lake Havasu last weekend. I dried them out immediately and sat them in the sun for the day. The seem to work fine, Should I test fly it and check for data or send them in for a check-up? I have gotten mixed feedback from local "radio experts".

Depends entirely upon whether you are an optimist or a pessimist.

Now, show us your stripes !

I guess it also depends on the value of the aircraft you are going to install it in, and most importantly, whether your insurance is up to date or not. It has nothing to do with "radio experts"

I'd skeet 'em down with some TV tuner cleaner and let them sit a while longer. A denatured alcohol dip wouldn't hurt either.

Speaking of "skeet 'em down", LAKE HAVASU??? Dang. You must've been understandably distracted...

How clean is the lake? Salt or fresh? If it's clean freshwater, it's basically harmless - the last thing a PCB gets when made is a water wash in most cases . . . . A fresh (distilled is best) water rinse or alcohol rinse would not be a bad idea either, if there is crud in the lake. Myself, I would stay away from things like tuner cleaner - they often have a lubricant which leaves crap all over everything . . . .
