Default DX3R compatible with MR3000 Marine Rx?

I have a DX3R and wanted to use it to replace my Pistol grip controllers for some of my boats. It is a DSM2 Radio but no where does the spektrum website mention that it is compatible. I dont know if the website isnt updated or it truly isn't compatible. I also Have a DX7 but I don't care for stick radios for fast electric boats.

yes it is. i have the manual here in front of me, and the compatible dsm2 & dsm1 rx's for the dx3r are as follows:

dsm2 sr3100- 3 ch dsm2 pro-spmsr3100

dsm1 sr3000- 3-ch standard-spm1200
sr3001- 3-ch pro-model-spm1205
sr3500- 3-ch micro race- spm1210

the only one that is not compatible with it is the sr3000hrs model # spm1202, it is designed to be used with futaba's hrs module. hope this helps...........td

Thanks. Im hoping my decision to buy the top of the line spektrum surface radio would have all the options available as opposed to buying the lower line S version that may apparently have all the options.

well, it looks like we are both out of luck. i contacted horizon about the compatibility, and they told me that they were'nt able to modify the software in the dx3r to accomodate the new mr3000. i am seriously disappointed after spending all that money on the dx3r and have to part with it. but , now it is on the auction block and i will just buy the dx3s and mr3000 this time to use with my boat...........

That does suck. I'm going to see about the possibility of running an SR3100 then. Hopefully there will be reps at RCX this weekend I can talk to. Maybe they have some ideas. I just got my radio and I'd hate to let it go this quick and take the loss.

I was running an MRX 3000 two channel with my DX3R. Its non marine but it is a surface receiver. I just put it in a balloon and works great...
