JR X9303 gear and aileron glitch
Hey guys, here's one for you. . .
My gear servo only actuates during aileron stick movement.
Gear up, or gear down, I have to wiggle the aile stick to get the gear servo to actuate.
I've assigned the gear switch to all possible switch combinations, set up a new model and reset all mixes -
the guys at the field think it's the radio not a mix. I hope their wrong.
. . . any ideas ???
I even bought a new servo and switched out the harness.
I think my new radio has got some bad mojo and has to go back for some work.
Thanks for your ideas in advance. Bill

Just a hunch, but is your gear servo a JR "retract" servo? Are you using 6v for your on board battery? If you have this combination, the JR retract servo only works on 4.8v. Wiggling the ailerons lowers the voltage enough that the servo will work. Let us know if this is it.

Thank you - I do have that combination - the JR 791 and a 6v.
Is there an easy fix, or is it safe to wiggle the gear down - it works consistently.
Thanks for the excellent info.

How about a tail rotor (gyro) voltage regulator in the retract wire harness? I've seen some of those that are just a diode in a servo extension. Or even a JR 2 channel volt regulator in the retract circuit, if you want to spend $30 to fix it?

Thanks.
You guys are the best - these forums and the internet has made modeling evolve at warp speed.
No longer is info limited to one club - the whole planet comes to your aid.
I found the Jr that carries 2 amps for thirty bucks, and another one that is five bucks and carries triple the amps.
I'm in my plane two grand, so I'll go with the JR, unless you guys think that Jr NES 791 is over 2 amps. It's got huge torque - 260 oZ/in.
Thanks again.
