Good Question. the gears in the DS 8231, 8411 and 8411sa are interchangeable. the 8411sa has the output gear from the 8411 and the three plastic gears are from the 8231. if the alloy output gear is still in good condition, you can get a set of 8231 gears to replace any plastic ones in your servo, at a total cost of only about $4 from the horizon site. or you can splurge on the 8411 gears and "Un-sa" your servo.
