Default Spektrum Futaba module for the 9c

I did not realize that the futaba module was not like the jr module.

Is it ok to not use the stock antenna with it's wire up to the antenna that replaces the stock 72 mhz antenna. I want to switch as I have 10-18 planes that have a 72mhz rx so don't want to change them all right now. Just the main use planes.I worry about the antenna bolt getting damaged. Also once pressed on the 2.4 antenna is hard to get off. I am told a can use a 2.4 antenna that screws directly on the back of the module. Is this ok?

Thank=you.

The other problem is it difficult to remove the 2.4 antenna all the time to put the radio in my carrying case. I don't think even the upright futaba case will work.

I had the spektrum module in my 8U that is for sale in the market place, after buying a JR9503. The old antenna is removed, and a mast post replaces it. It screws in just like the metal one. The mast is made of a nylon material and does flex. The antenna that snaps onto the mast post did fit snugly, but I took fine sandpaper and sanded the top of the mast, carefully, and now it snaps on and off easily, but still holds any position that you want it to be in. It comes off easily for transportation in a case.
