binding new receiver

I've got a Spektrum DX7 (luv this radio) I'm installing a new AR7000 receiver to a new aircraft. I went to connect a battery and stray servo to the receiver to bind it, and it was already bound. My question is: does this happen or is something wrong. I've connected about 7 or 8 receivers to this radio and every one of them needed binding. I'm a little hesitant to install this receiver in a $3000 plane. Am I just being paranoid, or should I not use this receiver?

It happens when you had that receiver previously bound to that transmitter for that model number. "Stray" suggests you don't know what model number the rx was last in in the tx, so it's possible.

So your saying it should be ok to fly? I was hoping for that, thanx.

I would bind it to make sure that throttle cuts off on signal loss.

But other than that, I don't see a problem.
