AR8010T, Ultra IBEC, DLE Igniiton, RPM telemetry problem

Let me preface this by saying I originally posted on flyinggiants.com, I received a lot of help and was able to narrow down the problem I'm having, but not able to solve it completely.
I have two A123 Life 2300mah packs running into a Wolverine switch with dual leads going into an AR8010T receiver. Then I have a Tech Aero Ultra IBEC connected to the gear channel of the receiver, then running to the
ignition module for a DLE30. I have the tachometer lead from the ignition connected to the rpm port of the receiver. When the IBEC is "on" there is a bright LED illuminated, when switched off the LED only dims about 50%, never
goes off. I tried different switches, even the rotary knob. I initially thought this was a problem with the IBEC, when I disconnect the IBEC from the ignition module everything works correctly, gear switch cleanly turns the IBEC
off and on, LED goes completely off. Tried this a few times, connect, disconnect from the ignition, always works when disconnected. It was suggested I try disconnecting the tachometer lead, when I did that everything worked
correctly again. IBEC connected to the ignition, no tach lead into the receiver, and the IBEC turns off and on correctly. Is it possible the tach lead from the ignition module is feeding back or do I have a faulty receiver?
Thanks in advance. (and I apologize for the lengthy post)

Yes, it's very possible. You may want to consider the Spektrum Hall-effect RPM sensor, or an optical one.
